The system that is responsible for cleansing and filtering the body from all the harmful toxins is the excretory system. It excretes and eliminates unnecessary substances from the body in order for the body to function well as well as to prevent further disorders from occurring. The kidney is one of the most important organs in our body and its primary role is to filter the blood from all the toxins it may have. Since the blood is transporting all the different nutrients to all parts of the body, there are some chemical reactions that will happen along the way which would result to certain substances that is not needed by the body –this is not being filtered by the kidney in order to prevent future complications and malfunctioning. We humans need at least one kidney in order to survive. Without kidneys, we will not survive, we will die. The kidneys have ureters that connect it to the urinary bladder which is a sac-like organ that is responsible in storing the urine and once it became full, it will pass the urethra and will be released and eliminated from the body. All the different organs in the body are equally important that is why we need to take good care of all of them in order to be healthy and to lengthen our lives.

However, there are some instances wherein some of our organs should be removed due to health disorders such as infections. Once an organ was infected, if it cannot be treated though medications, this should be removed surgically so that the infection will not spread out to other parts of the body. Just like once the urinary bladder becomes infected, most doctors would advise to remove it and place an artificial bladder called Indiana pouch. The urinary bladder is one of the organs that are exposed to infections because the urinary bladder stores all the excess water and bodily wastes. The Indiana pouch urinary diversion works like a real urinary bladder but there are some times wherein the body needs certain amount of time before it could adjust to the artificial device although the body does not tend to reject it. When the body rejects the Indiana pouch, this may lead to future a complication that is why this medical device was created to look as natural as possible so that it the body will accept it right away.
